Pakistani man hunted in ex-wife’s murder
POLICE are hunting for a Pakistani man who was the former husband of a woman brutally murdered in her townhouse and who visited her to try to get back together but this woman had already paired up with a young American man, Thai News Agency said today (July 13).
At midnight last night Lt. Gen. Sanit Mahathaworn, head of Metropolitan Police Bureau, together with Nong Chok policemen and forensic medical officials rushed to a townhouse in soi Mitmaitree in Nong Chock area upon being alerted that a woman died after being slashed in the neck and body several times.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Sanit said the deceased woman, Mrs Phatsorn Pathan, was found near a wooden bed under the staircase on the ground floor of the townhouse and nearby in the bathroom was found a fruit knife which is believed was used to kill her.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Sanit added that personal conflict likely led to her death with her former husband, a Pakistani national named Wakas, being the suspect as she had separated from him two to three years ago but he still visited her and tried to get back together with her but she had refused because she now had a new young American boyfriend.
An eyewitness said Mr Wakas came to see the deceased yesterday afternoon and after a while noises of quarrelling was heard after which the Pakistani man left.
