Police bust gang forging and selling fake documents online
POLICE arrested a gang forging and selling fake degrees, diplomas and various educational certificates as well as government documents online and say they are linked to bigger networks selling weapons and drugs, INN News said today (June 11).
Special Branch or 191 police head Pol Maj Gen Surachate Hakparn together with Metropolitan Police brought six suspects to a press conference today after arresting them and breaking up their network forging and selling weapons licenses, police cards, government documents and educational certificates and degrees online without any fear of the law.
Police investigation showed the suspects are linked to bigger networks selling weapons, bullets, several types of drugs as well as repossessed vehicles, vehicles with fake licenses and those that have not cleared taxes and that they shared mutual benefits.
The gang of forgers also announced that they were willing to buy other people’s bank account books for 1,000 to 2,000 baht which they used for their financial transactions and if caught the account owner was the one who got into trouble.
The six suspects arrested today have been charged with issuing fake documents and money laundering.
