Thirty new coronavirus cases found

Thirty new coronavirus cases have been found, raising the total to 177, according to Dr. Sukhum Kanchanaphimai, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Public Health (March 17, 2020).

Eleven of the new cases are linked to crowded boxing matches in Lumpini and Ormnoi boxing stadiums, one case linked to Thonglor entertainment area, nine cases were six Thais and three foreigners who had travelled abroad, and three are taxi drivers.

Most of the cases in Thailand — 70% to 80% — are recorded in Bangkok, according to Dr. Sukhum.
