Restaurant in the woods shut down

SURROUNDED by tall trees with each table set up in the middle of a stream, Zombie Café has attracted many Chiang Mai diners since it opened for business two days ago.

But the romantic atmosphere was shattered on Friday when police and forestry officials arrested the restaurant owner for encroaching on public land, Chiangmai News reported today (Feb. 24).

Accompanied by Chief District Officer Chaisaeng Pattanasakpinyo, police took the restaurant owner and two waiters to Mae Rim District Police Station, where they were charged with encroaching on public land and operating a restaurant without a license.
