Swiss motorcyclist on 3-nation tour injured

A SWISS youth motorcycling from Malaysia through Thailand and heading for Laos suffered an injury in northern Phayao province with this scuttling his journey, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (Feb. 23).

Mr Banthom Somsuwan, head of Phu Sang National Park in Phayao, said it was 1.40 pm yesterday that he heard the foreign tourist, Dario De Pizzol from Switzerland, had got injured after he lost his balance while riding the motorbike and fell into the field.

He and his officials rushed to the point of accident and found that De Pizzol had a bad gash on his right leg and they helped give him first aid before rescuers took him to the hospital.

Mr Banthom added that the accident took place on a curvy road leading out of the park and the Swiss tourist fell into the wayside because he was not familiar with the area.
