Thai-Malay border shutdown over Coronavirus
Fourth Army Region Commander Lt-Gen Pornsak Poonsawat has ordered a shutdown of 13 temporary Thai-Malay border checkpoints to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today (March 18, 2020).
The order took effect from 5.00 a.m. this morning.
The measure was taken after the Malaysian government imposed a 14-day shutdown of the country from March 18 to March 31, 2020 to contain the Coronavirus.
