The National Statistics Office (NSO) has released its latest data on Thai reading habits and the results show some interesting trends, reported yesterday (April 4, 2019).

According to the NSO survey in 2018, 78.8 percent of Thais who are over six years old (about 49.7 million) read books.

The top ten provinces with avid book readers are Bangkok (92.9 percent), Samut Prakan (92.7 percent), Phuket (91.3 percent), Khon Kaen (90.5 percent), Saraburi (90.1 percent), Ubon Ratchathani (88.8 percent), Phrae (87.6 percent), Trang (87.2 percent), Nonthaburi (86.6 percent) and Pathum Thani (86.2 percent).
