Three Chinese held with 8m baht from Myawaddy casino
Three Chinese citizens were arrested by Thai police and soldiers after fleeing from Myanmar to the Thai district of Mae Sod in Tak province, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported yesterday (Oct 26, 2020).
The two Chinese women and one Chinese man were taken across the Moei River to the Thai village of Maekumaitasung in Mae Sod by a Myanmar citizen.
The three Chinese citizens worked in a casino in Myawaddy and fled to the Thai side because of the outbreak of Covid-19.
They were arrested as they were about to board two cars arranged for them by two Thai men. The Thai police found more than 8 million baht in their possession.
