Tle Nattanon arrested after offering a white ribbon to Police.
Tle Nattanon the Co-Founder and Executive Editor of Spaceth.co was arrested during the rally on 16 October 2020 after he offered police officers a white ribbon. Nattanon posted a statement online on 18 October 2020 the experience from the incident stating “there was fear in police eyes”. This is only a part of the statement that relates to his arrest. Nattanon stated “I was not afraid when I was arrested but instead I saw fear in police eyes. I saw fear in their eyes when the boss said “arrest!” the officers didn’t want to follow the command. But, they couldn’t choose otherwise because of the system and stupidity.
Humans have treated each other mercilessly from this same stupidity. This is the birth of many mistakes in the past, including genocide in wars. I was let go in less than 24hrs after my arrest. The court provided there was no reason to hold me and to let me defend myself according to the law. I believe the case will be dismissed. This has shown me the balance of power between the legislative power, executive power, and judicial power, the principles of democracy.
In my darkest hour, I didn’t know where I was going but while in the prisoner transport vehicle light was still shining through the bars. In a city that shines from lights, similar to stars in the night sky, the darker it becomes the brighter the stars shine. The more stupidity there is, the knowledge shines even brighter.
I want everyone to fight against stupidity in themselves and others. If you see a candle go out, light it again until the flame spreads across the land. Continue standing up to fight for what is right and allow knowledge to shine”.
