Wife held for hiring hitman to kill husband
A WOMAN who wept copiously after a gunman shot dead her husband in Nakhon Si Thammarat recently turned out to be the one who hired the gunman to kill him, Thai News Agency said today (June 30).
Uamduan, the brutal wife, said she got her husband, Chaiya Udom, 53, who was a minor lottery agent and head of a motorcycle stand killed on June 19 this year because they quarreled frequently and when she asked for a divorce, offering him 100,000 baht, he refused to give her one.
Pol.Col Adisak Thepwan, head of Nakhon Si Thammarat police station, said his investigators first arrested a motorcyclist, Chirasak Srisomphot, 39, who only confessed to driving the motorcycle but not killing the man.
After gathering more evidence police arrested Mrs Uamduan at her house and while she first denied all charges she later confessed upon being shown evidence of her appointment with the gunman, calling the gunman and transferring money to him.
Mrs Uamduan cried her heart out when she carried her small child to see her husband’s body at the scene of the crime and also at the funeral and even cured the killer.
