Young monk caught taking drugs
A 22-year-old monk was disrobed this afternoon (August 15, 2018) after he was caught taking crystalized methamphetamine pills (better known as ‘Ice’) in his room at a temple in Na Chomtien District of Chon Buri province, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
Fellow monks became suspicious when two of his friends visited him regularly without bringing any food or necessities.
This morning, the village headman and two policemen burst into his room and found 10 methamphetamine pills hidden inside 10 glutinous rice balls given to him by his friends.
The monk was disrobed and charged with taking illegal substances.
