Big drug agent held with almost 900,000 speed pills
A MAJOR drug agent was arrested yesterday (Nov. 3) in Prawet area of Bangkok and over 43 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) and almost 900,000 tablets of amphetamine seized with the drugs intended for other big agents in the central and eastern regions, Thai News Agency said today (Nov. 4).
Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Chalermkiat Sriworakhan said Metropolitan Police Division 6 tracked and arrested of Mr Narongchai Khunthep, 20, after being tipped off that drugs from the north were stored at his rented house in Prawet area.
Police started following the suspect and yesterday just as he drove to this house and carried a gunny bag indoors police rushed in and arrested him. Seized from him was 43.244 kilograms Ice and 896,000 tablets of amphetamines.
Narongchai confessed that he got the drugs from Ayutthaya and Nonthaburi provinces and stored it at his rented house for further distribution to drug dealers. His usual practice was to arrange to give these drugs to 3 to 4 dealers a day along Onnut road.
He added that he used the cash for personal expenses and nightclubbing in Samut Prakarn area.
