Big flood hits half a million people in Nakhon Si Thammarat

More than 500,000 people in the southern Thai province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, or about 34 percent of the total provincial population, are now affected by a big flood.

In an interview with INN News on 4 December 2020, Mr. Udomsak Kawnuna, who is in charge of the Region 11’s Center for Protection and Disaster Relief, said 18 percent of the total provincial population in Pattalung are also affected by the disaster.

According to Mr. Udomsak, the hardest-hit districts in Nakhon Si Thammarat province are Muang, Lan Saka, Nob Pitam, Pak Panang, Huasai, Chawang and Prom Kiri.

In Surat Thani, people in 12 districts are affected, and a number of people have been evacuated.
