Cabbie denies molesting drunk singer
A TAXI driver has flatly denied trying to molest a young singer he took to a motel in the middle of Thursday night but the victim stands by her accusation and police say they have enough evidence to pursue legal action, Thai News Agency reported today (March 24) .
Pol Maj Gen Sompong Chingdao, deputy chief of Metropolitan Police, said they have arrested the taxi driver Mr Adirek Lertlarb, 41, after Miss Inthu-or Deebukkham, or Nong L, 22, a singer with a band, filed a complaint that he tried to molest her in a motel in Lad Phrao area on March 22 but was unsuccessful.
However the taxi driver denies trying to molest or rape the singer, saying that she was drunk and fell off to sleep and as he did not know where she lived, so he took her to the motel.
Nevertheless, police said they have enough evidence against the taxi driver, including video clips from the taxi itself and the motel plus the victim’s complaint.
Inthu-or warned women that they should stay alert even though they might be drunk when traveling taxis and also jot down the license plate number and call and tell a friend to note it down.
