Facebook chatting monk is on drugs
A 25-year-old Buddhist monk in the central Thai province of Ang Thong was defrocked by the abbot early this afternoon (April 24) for misconduct and drug addiction, the Thai-language Daily News reported.
Prior to his expulsion, the monk had been chatting with a young woman on Facebook and offered to tattoo her whole body. The woman shared his post with her friends, one of whom informed the abbot.
Upset by the abbot’s admonishment, the monk left the temple to stay with a friend, only to be arrested for taking methamphetamine pills.
