Ivory Coast man arrested for carrying cocaine in his stomach
A YOUNG Ivory Coast man was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport today (Dec. 16) for attempting to smuggle 63 lumps of cocaine, weighing altogether 1.13 kilogram, in his stomach, INN News reported.
Narcotics Suppression police together with Narcotics Control Board and customs officials arrested Mr. Ibrahim Bakayoko, an Ivory Coast national, after he was called in for a check as he looked suspicious, and upon going through the x-ray the lumps were spotted in his stomach.
He was given a laxative and the 63 lumps of cocaine weighing 1.13 kilogram were seized and he was arrested for further legal action.
The suspect had traveled to Thailand on flight ET628 from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
Also arrested was Ms.Nozipho Nene, 25, a South African national, who traveled on flight EK418 from Dubai to Suvarnabhumi Airport after 1 kilogram of cocaine was found in her travel bag.
