Man held for smuggling weight-loss drugs

CUSTOMS officials this morning (May 1) arrested a Myanmar man in possession of weight-loss pills destined for Thai traders, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported today (May 1).

The pills are well-known in Thailand but are listed on a watch-list of Thai Customs officials.

The Office of Thai Food and Drugs Administration has reported the deaths of four Thai people who died after taking the pills continuously for two weeks, the paper said.
