Questioning of pro-election leaders drags on
IT was very quiet at Chanasongkram police station this morning (May 23) where the night-long questioning of 4 key pro-election leaders was still continuing, INN News reported.
The 4 leaders of this group undergoing lengthy questioning are Rangsiman Rome, Sirawith Seritiwat or Ja New, Piyarath Chongthep and Nikorn Vithyaphan.
The pro-election group tried to march from Thammasat University Tha Phrachan campus to the Government House to announce their standpoint that the government hold an election this year and clearly set an election date yesterday.
Some activists showed up at the station last evening to give moral support to their leaders, but later went away.
Policemen at this station said the questioning of the 4 suspects has now been shifted from the first to the second floor, with a metal barrier placed across the staircase and a sign across it saying “outsiders not allowed to enter.”
Moreover, reporters from various news media have started milling around the station to closely follow the situation.
