Songkhla steps up measures against new strain of Covid-19

Songkhla Governor Jaruwat Kliangklao today (May 11, 2021) imposed strict measures to prevent a new strain of Covid-19 from spreading into Thailand from Malaysia.

Maximum protection measures are now in place, particularly along the Thai-Malaysian border in Sabayoi, Natawee and Sadao districts, which are under the jurisdiction of Border Police Unit 437.

The border police will set up three checkpoints: one at the Thai-Malaysian border, two on the main highway and local roads, and three in villages along the Thai-Malaysian border.

Twenty new Covid-19 patients are found in Songkhla today, increasing the total number of patients to 855.
