KResearch: 37.99 million foreign tourists expected this year
THE outlook of foreign tourism market is rosy this year as 37.64-37.99 million people are expected to holiday here, with this being a 6.5-7.5 % increase over last year, when the market likely expanded by 8.7%, INN News quoted Kasikorn Research Center (KResearch) as saying today (Jan. 15).
This research center also projected that revenue from foreign tourism will total 1.97-2.01 trillion baht this year, an increase of 8.8-10.4% over last year, when it likely jumped by 11.7%.
Tourism trends in 2018 track the direction overseas, such as the increasing importance of communications technology during travels. Domestic trends also have a lot of impact, particularly state moves to push this market such as the promoting Thai style, sports and food tourism.
It is vital for operators have to adjust their marketing strategy to match these trends, Kasikorn Research Center added.
