Raid on RCA condo nets over 20 Africans
POLICE raided a condominium in RCA clubbing area and arrested over 20 Africans for overstaying their visa and on suspicion of drug use, INN News said today (July 7).
Acting on a tip-off, Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen.Chalermkiat Sriworakhan led a team of immigration and narcotics police officers to raid the condo where they found over 20 African men and women who entered Thailand early last year and had overstayed their visa.
Police said this group of Africans was led by an Ethiopian man while the women from Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia worked as prostitutes in Pratunam and Soi Nana entertainment areas.
Police rounded up this group of Africans after arresting another group on charges of producing fake visas with some of them using drugs and a few linked to international drug trafficking rings.
