Covid-19 alert level 4 with new safety measurements.

One week into the new year 2022 and the arrival of the Omicron variant, Thailand has now increased the Covid-19 alert to level 4. INN News reported new health safety measurements and changes. The Public Health Ministry increased the Covid alert level from level 3 to 4 as Covid-19 cases are starting to rise again. Along with the increased alert, there are new health measurements put in place to help limit the spread of Covid-19 in Thailand.

These measurements include, 1. Avoid high-risk areas, avoiding eating and drinking in restaurants. 2. Avoid joining crowded activities, close contact with persons outside of your household, and avoid group gatherings. 3. Avoid using public transportation travel for interprovincial travels if not absolutely necessary. 4. Avoid traveling outside the country, quarantine is required when returning to the country. Although not rules, the Ministry is asking the people to help follow in order to limit the spread of the virus.

The Department of Disease Control reported that the Omicron variant can spread 2-5 times faster than other variants. The variant is usually not as deadly but we still need to follow necessary safety precautions as there are many who can develop serious symptoms from the virus. ATK tests are simple to use but the test results are also less accurate. Many Omicron cases have been found who test negative using ATK tests. Those who have been infected with other Covid-19 variants previously can still catch the Omicron variant. The main symptoms include coughing, sore throat, fever, body aches, runny nose, headache, trouble breathing, and loss of smell.
